Project Overview
In August 2025, BK Doors completed a critical shutdown project for Teva Pharma, upgrading two production airlocks to improve product flow, operational separation, and safety compliance within a live pharmaceutical facility.
The project required precision planning and execution, with all works completed during a strict 5-day shutdown window to avoid disruption to production schedules.
Project scope
This project demanded high-performance cold room systems, robust safety solutions, and precise coordination to ensure uninterrupted production readiness
- Freezer Room Upgrades - Supply and installation of doors for four freezer rooms requiring consistent low-temperature performance.
- Chill Room Upgrades - High-speed door systems installed across two chill rooms to support frequent forklift access.
- Frigo 2 Freezer Doors - Installation of four double-curtain Frigo 2 doors designed for freezer environments with heavy-duty usage.
- D501 High-Speed Doors - Supply and installation of 13 Dynaco D501 rapid roll doors for high-traffic chill room operations.
- Fire Shutters (FD120) - Installation of two FD120 fire-rated shutters as part of the site-wide fire strategy.
- Fire Curtains (FD120) - Supply and installation of eight FD120 fire curtains for compartmentation and escape protection.
- Steel Fire Doors (FD120) - Installation of 20 FD120 steel fire-rated doors throughout the facility.
Project Results
BK Doors worked closely with site management and safety officers to ensure all installations aligned with operational demands and fire safety requirements.
All door systems were installed, tested, and commissioned to ensure:
- Improved temperature control in cold-room areas
- Reduced energy loss from upgraded insulated door systems
- Full fire safety compliance, including certification
- Enhanced security through automated access and shutter systems
- A modern, professional new facade improving branding and functionality
